Two alternate modes for Alyx's gun, never seen in the retail game. 🤍
The Alyxgun is programmed to have full auto and single shot but hardcoded to be animated for full auto and three round burst. Oh noes! How to fix?! Well...by speeding up the animation and NOT using snap, I got something that looks decent. I kinda sorta added a mode switch animation by editing the fire animation. Woot. 🤍

Video Info (The thing you least care about) Well here it is, a Downloadable Alyxgun that you can use. I also took the liberty showing off Caves weapons such as the weapon_thumper which scares the antlions away and the weapon_hopwire. Much like the hopewire in EP1, Caves hopewire sucks everything in its path (foe, friend,physics) besides the crash. He did a wonderful job. As for the video that might look weird, I'm still playing with resolutions. Windows 7 does it differently then XP by far. . .

READ: Alyx's gun is already coded in in Half-Life 2. However it was not really made for the player to use, only Alyx. I edited the weapon script and found a model off of garrysmod.org by Virus. Unlike the Annabelle, with edits it is a fully working gun. One issue with it tho the only way of getting more ammo is the command "givecurrentammo". It does take normal pistol ammo, but if you got the pistol then the Alyx gun your pretty much screwed. It has two functions. Normal mode and a weaker burst mode. Maybe the burst mode was not finished as it takes 1 shot per burst. Sorry if the video sucks of demonstrating, I tried. . .

My dear friend Freekill had a pretty good idea to renew the Alyxgun from SMod. At first i wasn't much into it, but then i decided to take it up anyways. His idea consisted in adding these beautiful animations by Mantuna, and a pair of sights to the gun. As i begun ahead with the work, i realized that there had never been an Alyxgun with a moving slide. In an attempt to do something new, i added internal parts to the gun allowing for the slide to move. I had to edit the reload animations slightly as the clip went through the hand. There was also a problem in the original mesh that meant i had to start all over. Luckly it was quick to drag and drop a working mesh from the 100% original Alyxgun. After all there was many bugs, but i managed to fix them all. ^^ Also the first few images are to show of the internals a little better. Hope you enjoy!
