Volcanoids is a first-person steampunk survival game set on a volcanic island where you build and utilize massive drillships to survive frequent eruptions that destroy everything left on the surface. Your ultimate goal is to silence the volcano but in order to do so, you'll have to upgrade the drillship until it's capable of drilling inside the core. This won't be easy as not only you have to deal with frequent eruptions but there's also a hostile race of mechanical beings that are using the volcano as a power source and will do anything to stop you from reaching your goal. Core Features MOBILE BASES Your drillship serves as your main survival tool but also as a base. This comes with many advantages such as moving your drillship to a more strategic location, taking your base with you on your journeys and saving time since you don’t have to rebuild and move everything every time you advance into a new area. BASE PROTECTION WHILE OFFLINE Before you log out you’ll be able to hide your drillship underground and if there are no incoming attacks you will be able to turn on the silent mode. After doing so your drillship becomes indestructible for a few days. CHANGING ENVIRONMENT Eruptions affect the entire island. There are 3 different island states and each one of them has its pros and cons. TAKING CARE OF ABANDONED STRUCTURES Anything left on the surface will be eventually destroyed by eruptions. This ensures good server performance since there will be no abandoned structures lying around the island. LATE GAME AUTOMATIZATION At first things will take time and you will have to do them manually but as you progress through the game you’ll be able to build different modules that will do these tasks for you. END GOAL There is a clear end goal that you work towards. STEAMPUNK VISUALS Because who doesn’t love steampunk? SINGLEPLAYER, COOP, MULTIPLAYER Our plan is to start with singleplayer to test core mechanics and then add coop and multiplayer. Use their own technology against them as you upgrade the machinery and reclaim your homeland. MOBILE BASE Take the vantage point, stay safe underground or choose a material-rich location and explore. The drillship is a one of a kind base that serves as a factory and armored mobile base. DEADLY ENVIRONMENT Experience the tension and thrill of surviving volcanic eruptions that turn the island into an apocalyptic wasteland. Time between each eruption is your most valuable resource. Use it to roam the island gathering materials, finding new technology and utilizing production. MECHANICAL MENACE Deal with a hostile race of robots that use the volcano as a source of energy and resources. Their units are scattered all around the island’s surface as well as below it. BASE MANAGEMENT Take control over your drillship with many different stations and gadgets.
