I took the 2v geodesic sphere to bits last week to build this space frame truss structure, I used roughly the same number of parts but this is a 3 dimensional truss rather than a triangulated single layer sphere. Types Single layer grid: All elements are located on the surface to be approximated. Double layer grid: Elements are organized in two layers parallel to each other at a certain distance apart.
