Docker Compose Tutorial - Docker in Practice || Docker Tutorial 9

In this Docker Compose Tutorial you will learn what Docker Compose is, why it's useful and how to use it. ► Subscribe to me on Youtube: 🤍 Docker Compose is a tool that makes running multiple Docker containers much easier, than with Docker run commands. I show you how docker run command compares to a docker compose file and explain step by step the difference and how it maps from docker run to a docker compose field. So, basically you can take the whole docker run command with it's configuration and map it into a file. You will get a more structured and re-usable command, especially if you have e.g. 10 docker containers. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ T I M E S T A M P S 🐳 0:00 - Intro 0:07 - What is Docker Compose? 1:22 - docker run commands VS docker compose 5:05 - How to use it? - Create the Docker Compose File (Demo) 7:25 - Docker Networking in Docker Compose #devops #techworldwithnana #docker #dockertutorials - Once you've learnt the basic concepts, it's important to see how Docker is actually used in practice or in real world development so to say. How to Deploy a Container with Docker Compose

Start learning cybersecurity with CBT Nuggets. 🤍 In this video, Trevor Sullivan covers how to build and deploy a custom built container image with Docker Compose. In this step by step demonstration, you’ll see the various settings you need to configure, where to go to get the container instructions, and how to customize a publicly accessible image for your specific requirements. Trevor begins by walking through the various docker settings, including version, services, web, and build, explaining what you’ll use each one for and what you should know about it. The build instruction is particularly important; in a previous video, Trevor explained how to use an image to point to a WordPress container. However, when you’re creating a container, you’ll need to change that over to the build instruction. You’ll see where to go in the project root folder to find the Dockerfile instructions that will allow you to build a custom container. You won’t need to start from scratch; Trevor will show you how to use a publicly accessible image and then customize it to create the container you need. 🚧 Download the Ultimate Project Management Cert Guide: 🤍 ⬇️ 13-Week Study Plan: CCNA (200-301): 🤍 Start learning with CBT Nuggets: • Docker | 🤍 • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Installation, Storage, and Compute (70-740) | 🤍 • Microsoft MCSA: Windows Server 2016 | 🤍 • Getting Started in IT | 🤍

DevOps Tutorial : Docker Secrets

Hello Friends , Welcome to DevOps Tutorial , In this video lecture we will learn docker secrets. Docker Secrets Secrets : A secret is a piece of data, such as a password, SSH private key, SSL certificate, or another piece of data that should not be transmitted over a network or stored unencrypted in a Dockerfile or in your application’s source code. In Docker 1.13 and higher, you can use Docker secrets to centrally manage this data and securely transmit it to only those containers that need access to it. Docker Secrets is only available in the Swarm mode, so standalone containers can not use this feature. A given secret is only accessible to those services which have been granted explicit access to it, and only while those service tasks are running. How Docker Swarm manage the secrets. When a user adds a new secret to a Swarm cluster, this secret is sent to a manager using a TLS connection. TLS is a cryptographic protocol that provides communications security over a network by providing communication encryption, privacy and data integrity. When we have multiple Managers, RAFT manage the secrets on all the managers. Containers work on mounted decrypted secrets, which store at /run/secrets/secret_name in containers. User can update a service to grant it access to additional secrets or revoke its access to a given secret at any time. When container task stops running, the decrypted secrets shared to it are unmounted from the in-memory filesystem for that container and flushed from the node’s memory. Simplify All the Things with Docker Compose

As you probably know by now, containers have revolutionized the software industry. But, once you have a container, then what? How do you run it? How do you help someone else run it? There are so many flags and options to remember, ports to configure, volume mappings to remember, and don't even get me started with networking containers together! While it's possible to do all of this through the command line, don't do it that way! With Docker Compose, you can create an easily shareable file that makes all of this a piece of cake. And once you fully adopt containers in your dev environment, it lets you setup your code repos to allow the simplest dev onboarding experience imaginable: 1) git clone; 2) docker-compose up; 3) write code. In this talk, we'll talk about several tips to help make all of this a reality. We'll start with a few Docker Compose basics, but then quickly move into several advanced topics. We'll even talk about how to use the same Dockerfile for dev and prod (we've all been there by having two separate files)! As an added bonus, we'll look at how to use Docker Compose in our CI/CD pipelines to perform automated tests of the container images built earlier in the pipeline! We'll have a few slides (because we have to explain a few things), lots of live demos (show it in action!), and maybe a few other surprises as well! Let's have some fun and help simplify all the things with Docker Compose! Speaker: Michael Irwin, Virginia Tech Twitter: 🤍mikesir87

How To Use Docker Compose To Build And Run Windows Containers

If you enjoyed this video, be sure to head over to 🤍 to get free access to our entire library of content! Docker compose is a tool that can be used to define and run multi-container Docker applications. In this video, Matt will walk through how to create a YAML file to configure a simple 2 Windows container application. The YAML file will define 2 “services”, IIS and SQL. Once the services are defined in the YAML file, we will use “docker-compose build” to build the services to check for any errors. Once the build completes successfully, we will us “docker-compose up” to build and start the containers for our services. We will also go over the difference of running containers in the background with Docker Compose. Finally, we will go over how to stop and remove containers using “docker-compose down”, “docker-compose stop” and “docker-compose rm” Head over to now for hundreds of in-depth, informative how-to articles just like this!
