Discord has been completely copied by China with their own version of the application called Kaiheila. It is fairly interesting as to why this happened, but is expectable considering that China has banned and blocked many social media companies including; YouTube, Twitch, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter and even cooperations such as the BBC. This is because the Chinese government have very strict social media and internet laws which would force companies to host user data within the regional territory. Therefore, companies do not want to do this and many get banned. With this in mind, China decided to copy and clone Discord with their own version which has been translated into the Chinese language. It has many of the same features as Discord, and is expected to soon get the latest features such as Discord Stage channels and Discord Nitro features expected to be released soon. Throughout the video I will make comparisons between the two applications like I did for Guilded and give my personal opinion about whether this application is good or not. I couldn’t sign up for the application as I do not have a Chinese phone number nor Chinese social media such as WeChat (bascially WhatsApp) or QQ which is fairly similar to Snapchat.
